Abstract

Science is built on rigour, but it thrives on sharing. It is in this context that the scientific journal Athena Health & Research Journal serves as a privileged platform for disseminating knowledge, fostering links between lecturers, researchers and students, and promoting a dynamic and collaborative scientific culture within the academic community.

More than just a publication platform, the Athena Health & Research Journal represents a meeting point for different fields of knowledge, encouraging interdisciplinary dialogue and the establishment of collaboration with other institutions. This approach not only enhances the visibility of the work carried out, but also facilitates the creation of networks that enrich scientific output and contribute to the advancement of knowledge.

In the context of Biomedical Laboratory Sciences, this mission takes on particular significance. It is an intrinsically multidisciplinary field that integrates various laboratory disciplines, playing an essential, albeit often unobtrusive, role in understanding biological processes and in clinical decision-making.

The Degree in Laboratory Biomedical Laboratory Sciences thus plays a central role in training professionals and future researchers, providing students with opportunities to engage with research from the early stages of their academic journey. Working closely with the faculty and participating in scientific projects, students are challenged to develop autonomy, critical thinking and scientific responsibility – fundamental pillars for informed and conscientious professional practice.

The Athena Health & Research Journal thus stands out as a key tool for promoting and publicising the work carried out by students and staff. By encouraging scientific publication, it not only enhances the visibility of academic activities but also fosters the development of essential skills in scientific communication, thereby contributing to the development of more knowledgeable, critical and engaged professionals.
