EditorialAbstract
The presentation of scientific papers in an academic setting provides an important opportunity to disseminate research findings and, at the same time, to encourage the establishment of sound practices for scientific sharing and publication across the various fields of health sciences. In this context, the Athena Health & Research Journal is partnering with the 1st Conference of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Fernando Pessoa University (FCS-UFP) through the publication of this scientific supplement.
The supplement brings together abstracts of scientific papers presented in the form of oral presentations and posters, as well as full-length articles of the award-winning papers, reflecting the involvement of students, lecturers and researchers in scientific activity across the various fields of health sciences.
The thematic diversity of the papers presented and the participation of different fields within the health sciences contribute to the creation of spaces for meeting, interaction and knowledge-sharing between Dentistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Nutritional Sciences, promoting a more integrated and multidisciplinary approach to education, research and clinical practice.
In addition to the knowledge sharing they facilitate, these initiatives play a significant role in stimulating early scientific research within an academic context, encouraging students to develop critical thinking, communication and scientific publication skills, as well as a more active role in knowledge production. In addition to disseminating the scientific output presented, this supplement also serves as a record of the scientific activity shared during the Conference, contributing to the preservation and dissemination of knowledge produced in an academic context. It is hoped that this publication will stimulate the continuation of scientific collaboration and reinforce a culture of multidisciplinary research and publication in the health sciences.
